Up for sale is a Rare Vintage Casio SKX-1110 men’s digital ski sports watch from the 1980s, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) and powered by Module 1049. This bold and colorful ski-series model perfectly captures the adventurous spirit of Casio’s late-80s sports lineup. The watch is in full working condition, and all features and functions of the watch are working properly. All parts of the watch are original, including the extremely rare ski-design Casio canvas strap. Finding this model with its original strap in great condition is exceptionally rare, as these canvas ski straps are often missing or heavily worn. The strap features the large “CASIO” embroidery and original hardware, making this example especially desirable for collectors. The watch is in good physical condition overall and shows signs of use and age consistent with a vintage sports watch from the 1980s. The photos best describe its physical condition and should be reviewed carefully prior to purchase. ► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY

Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
